    Default For Sale Ruark Sceptres

My beloved pair of Ruark Sceptres, brought these from Northwood Audio (as it was then) around 1997 (traded in some LS3/5A's for them !!)

I think I paid around £700 for them then which gives you an idea of their quality

I've now acquired a pair of Talisman 2's (yes I do like Ruark) so they are up for sale.

They sound as good today as they did when new

Cabinet wise they are not perfect (see the 2nd picture the worst is the bottom of the cabinets where they have been on spikes but of course you can't see this when they are on stands ).

A bit of TLC and I reckon they could be made to look almost as good as new if you wanted to but it won't make them sound any better though

These really are a top quality speaker with a lovely Cherrywood real veneer and sound glorious (well to me they do)

Looking at £165 collected (Aylesbury area, can deliver within a reasonable distance for fuel)

Any questions then feel free to pm at anytime

    Andy

Bi wired (I haven't got the bridges any more as I've always used them bi-wired)

This is the photo of the BOTTOM of the speakers showing the spike scratches

Are these a similar size to LS3/5A’s? I’m after something for my office to go with my Croft Integrated as my Harberh HL-K6’s are just a little too large for the space & as such under-utilised

Hi Russell thanks for your interest

    They are : Dimensions (HxWxD): 380 x 210 x 300 mm

    LS3/5a are: 300 x 190 x 160 mm (off the net)

    Harbeth 440mm x 250mm x 308mm

So they are about 60mm less tall 60mm narrower and about the same depth as your Harbeth's.......about 10 times cheaper than LS3/5a's ......

    Hope this helps

    Cheers

Thanks for the quick reply Andy.

Just one more question.....I take it they have a 6” Bass / Mid Driver with those dimensions?

I’d be willing to give them a go but I fly to Germany with work in the morning until Sunday so wouldn’t be able to do anything until the following week?

    Thanks, Russ.
