It's not that blind testing, as a procedure in itself, is intrinsically flawed, but rather the methodology applied to test for the phenomenon in question - and therefore the results achieved can only ever be as accurate as allowed for by that methodology.

Absolutely Marco and it applies to rooms as well.....the room being part of the system.

For sure... ALL known and applicable variables *must* be taken into consideration, and effectively addressed, in order for the test results to be as accurate as possible. That applies when testing anything!

A thought crossed my tired mind, has anybody tried Russ Andrews shorties? Some of the reviews seem to suggest similar improvements to grounding boxes... https://www.russandrews.com/shorties...90000/#reviews

They stop all nasties getting inside, but look a bit expensive for what they are.

Yes, I've been using them for years, and with good success...

I meant to mention this much earlier in the thread, but forgot. Furthermore, I've always been able to hear the (subtle, not massive) detrimental sonic effect of having more than one piece of equipment plugged into my preamp, when listening to music, which is why for 'serious' listening sessions, I always disconnect whatever kit isn't being used, and fill the empty inputs with 'Shorties'.

Therefore, if that is what this grounding box (and others like it) are doing, but on a larger scale, then I can safely say that *for me* it works!

    Shorties are an intriguing one.

They idea kind of comes across as foo. However and on the other hand, they do seem to make a difference to a lot of users ears

There you go, every little helps.

They've been around a few years now but must admit I was initially a tad sceptical when they first came on the scene.

I'll be plugging up with these myself one day at some point

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
