“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

It’s not just the box though is it? Seems the cable(s) can cost almost as much as the box. This can add up to a significant amount of smackeroos!

It looks to me like a solution in search of a problem.

The reason for arrogance is in essence, the inability to absorb and deal with the tensions and anxieties which occur in an individual whilst addressing the travails of life.

I have previously mentioned a book on this, in which the author describes various personality types, and the advantages of actually coping with the pressure of unresolved issues.

The arrogant response is really an attempt to 'dump' on someone else, his own discordance resulting from his anxiety.

Ah, but which of us would agree we are arrogant?

True enlightenment comes with an honest self-appraisal. So I heard.

Forgive me, Marco, but I'm not sure that introducing a bit of science can be construed as "prejudice"!

Frankly, as an engineer, many of the claims made for these units and the explanations for the alleged "engineering" behind them are somewhere between woefully misguided and downright hilarious. That said, if someone wants to buy one and thinks it makes a change to their system then I have no problem with that, and I would defend their right to do so.

However, I would hope in return that they would defend my right to point out that there is no scientific basis for any improvement to their system and that, if they are hearing a difference, it's most likely because of the increased noise and RF pickup on their system's ground connections!

He he, there will always be 'optimistic' marketing speak, some of the spiel I have read recently has been very amusing.

Now I have to disagree with you there, I don't know how it works exactly but I am convinced there is a reduction in said noise and RF pickup.
