Thumbs up New member - Wegamus

    Hi everyone, I’m Greg.

Been reading around the forum for a while and thought I’d say hello.

I’ll be getting an Audio Grail Garrard 301 and Russ Collinson plinth soon, and have found lots of helpful information here about vinyl replay. Particularly interested in 12” arms, SPUs, SUTs etc.

I tend to like small-scale Jazz and Classical, as well as plenty of other music too.

Cheers to Marco and everyone else here!

    Hello Greg. Welcome to AOS.

Looks like you'll have a good record playing setup once sorted.

Tell us about the rest of the system and what other future plans if any you may have.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
Thank you Geoff, I’ll say a little bit about my system:

I have a Leben CS300XS integrated amplifier, delivering 15Wpc to a pair of Harbeth P3ESR speakers. For digital I have a Roon Nucleus with 2TB solid-state drive, which goes in via USB to my Sony 70th anniversary DAC - the TA-ZH1ES.

I also have a Croft RIAA phono stage which I may keep for use with my forthcoming SPU, although I’d need a SUT (eg. Music First 632) to use it. I’ve been using the Croft with my Pro-Ject The Classic turntable and Ortofon 2M carts, but I’m upgrading to the 301 very soon. The Pro-Ject is for sale elsewhere. I may sell the Croft and try something new, like the VIDA Prima or TRON Convergence. Plenty of options below £2k for an MC phono stage but with an SPU am I better going the SUT + MM stage route? Will be fun finding out as I search for demos, loan gear and advice!
