Testing the Fidelity Research FR64s classic heavy weight tonearm anti skate (whole assembly I've made) on the customer's tonearm.
    Working a treat.
Next step is to play test it on my deck.

Here is the customer's Fidelity Research FR64s with the Anti skate mech I made, using my counterweight and headshell / cart.
Played several records to test it.
    Performed beautifully and sounded great.

The final part of the Fidelity Research FR64s restoration project to make it complete...
A new lateral weight and rod to support it.
The original had been sheared off at some point and there were teeth marks on the cylinder where someone had tried in vain to remove it.
I came up with a cunning plan to restore it to good as new - without messing with the arm / drilling etc.

    Here it is.

Will be shipped back to New York to a Jazz musician, who'll be loving it, no doubt.

    Ebony Vs Brass for armboards.

I made Brass plate and Ebony armboard versions for a customer's Voyd deck.

Remit was, test both and send back the one that was not wanted.

Well, the brass one came back..

    This one was the keeper

I can confirm this was the case, the ebony one just made it all sound that little bit smoother. Both were beautifully made by Steve.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Here's an aluminium arm mount for a Kenwood KD-990 turntable for Hugo - Ammonite Audio.
To fit a Jelco tonearm. Holes for the armbase to drilled by the customer once it's swung into position.

Looking good! This will enable me to fit a 10” Jelco TK-850M to the rear left leg of the old KD-990, with a 12” Reed 3P in the usual arm position (also using a custom armboard fabricated by Steve).
