    Default Man eaters of Kumaon

When I was in my late 20's I read Man Eaters of Kumaon and loved the book, so much I bought my own old copy at a gun show and paid way to much for it.
So tonight I got my 9 year old to put down Stick Dog Crashes the party and read my old 1946 copy . He reads well beyond his age but still likes goofy kid books kids in his class are reading.
First chapter hooked him, There is nothing better than having your son read one of your favorite books to you. And reads pretty well.
This book is hard to find in the U.S. Not as hard to find as the original songs and tales of uncle Reamus but close.

Anyone have any good father son books to recommend?

Sadly neither of my (grown up) kids read books, I've tried many times but neither are interested. My daughter (24) read all the Harry Potter books in her teens but probably nothing since and I doubt my son (21) has read a book outside school in his life

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Audio books are so popular here in the U.S. There is something about the texture and smell when turning paper, and there is no battery to monitor so your book doesn't go black screen just as something pivotal is going to go down in the next paragraph or page.

Grant I happen to hate the feeling of books, just touching the pages does funny things to me.. odd but true, so the Kindle is much nicer to use for me, I also have a few audible books that I've yet to listen to
