Speaker stands pointless?
Before I start a riot the title isn't a serious question
BUT
I had an engineer in yesterday to repair and service my boiler (again) this meant moving my speakers to allow him access to the boiler and water tank.
I plonked on speaker on top of a radiator and the other on a unit right in the corner of the room, both were against wall, one was 2 feet in front of the other and neither was solidly held onto anything. Despite all this they still sounded pretty good, this was confirmed when the boiler engineer commented on the sound quality.
Why do we bother?
