Yes, sorry, that's them. Really fun little 'speakers. Remind me somewhat of my original Tablettes, from back in the day. It is amazing what sound can be had from modern, well matched components, for not a great deal of money. Is my multi thousand pound system 25-30 times good as the TEAC/Dali? of course not, to answer my own question.

I'm glad this thread came up as I intend on getting hold of a decent one of these 'silver' Denon systems for my lounge.

Have had the lovely Technics CA10 system for some years and it is very good for it's purpose - https://www.google.com/search?q=tech...-dYrZKwLMb4PM:

The amp with it's VU's is particularly nice.

I too got rid of the original multi speakers and have always used it with Kef Q1's - Looks good and makes a lovely sound.

Only been contemplating the Denon simply for a change of decor in the lounge, from the black CA-10 set up to the silver of the Denon

When I do get the Denon, I'll search for some decent bookshelf speakers to pair it with

I'm using one with a couple of wharfedale diamonds, bought it for TV, but it has made quite a good system in lounge.

TV connection via optical, it also has dab radio, squeezebox duet connection via aux, CD player and USB. Complete with remote.

    Sounds very good indeed.

i might add the latest one was 179 in richer sounds so currys a bit overpriced even if it includes speakers

One of the Teac ones a few years ago had a VRDS CD player in it, always thought I'd try one if I saw it come up local.

I bought the Denon D-M41DAB very recently as Richer Sounds were selling it for £179 without speakers. It's an excellent unit and has a really good FM tuner, which was my primary reason for buying.

Hooked up to some Proac Tablette 10 as an experiment it has a good sense of rhythm but gets congested in complex tracks compared to the Exposure amp I was using. It sounds fine with simpler music and vocals. It's also on the warm side of neutral, which got rather noticeable at times. Better that than being too lean though, and it helps the system sound good at low levels. I'm still playing with speaker matching.

My Trio KT5550 and NAD 3120 definitely sound better, but they take up more space and the Trio tuner can be hissy by comparison. The Denon also has remote control and presets, which the Trio doesn't. Overall I'm happy I bought it.

    This would fit the bill?

I have the U.S. version of this CDP and it sounded better than my Music Hall.

Mine is in black , I use it as a transport to a Tube DAC but really love how the internal Dac sounds on it's own too.
This small CDP is a giant killer.

Back in the early to mid 90s Onkyo made some beautifully made and sounding micro components. Build quality was like Swiss made stuff. I remember selling these and in no way for the price were they poor cousins to full size similarly priced stuff. The Teac Reference series 300 and 500 kit is excellent, though the 300 series CD player can be a bit unreliable.

In my kitchen I run an Onkyo micro and Proac Super Tablets, very nice sound, works well.

I can say with absolute certain tee , My Teac CD H750 is truly amazing for it's price. I had a Music Hall CD 25.2 and the Denon sounded so much better,
dac chip? I don't know but it replaced it . I use a tube DAC so the Denon just has transport duty. I know ones and zeros should not make a difference but I still prefer the Teac.
I some times think the DAC chip is a very small component in the over all sound and the over all circuit and filtering has more to do with it. I invite those with more knowledge to enlighten me.

Below are the specs for both.
