I suppose it's a bit like hifi, where even "lesser" components will show an improvement when fed a better signal. My HD set is going nowhere. Mrs. P is talking about us getting a Sky Q box -I'm assuming this has some 4K content, and if so I'll be interested to see if that yields any improvement.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL Storm sub

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

My Pana 55" HD TV recently developed a problem with the picture, so I've bought a 55" Philips ambilight, it's 4k and the picture is a bit better, I play HD and 4k content from amazon and Netflix and to be honest I have to be consciously looking for the difference, it is there but I find when I'm watching TV HD is as good as it needs to be, what I mean by that is that I don't feel like I'm missing out or NEED the picture to be any better.
