Hi all

Has any forum member got a video 8 camera or player they can sell or loan.
My other half has quite a large number of tapes she would like to transfer before they're rendered useless.

Any and all help welcome

Hi

Have a look at ebay as there is a camera on there starting at £22. I expect it will go significantly higher than that though as another is bidding at £150

There are people doing tape transfer services but I dont know if they cover video 8. I prefer to do things myself

I used to love video 8 and had the 700 home deck. Sorry I cant help but someone will and its all down to how much you value whats on those tapes

Thanks for the info.
I managed to get a Hi8 for £55 in very good working order.
The footage is sentimental.
I also like to do things myself but the missus has taken over the project..

Yes I was thinking of you when Age Uk had a couple of them in the window. A Canon Hi 8 and something else. Didnt see the price but thought you would have sorted something out.

The cameras do turn up quite often. I had the Sony home deck which I paid 700 notes for and that was a fair bit of dosh then. All I really did was record Jean Michel Jarre... Houston off the telly and record some cds

Loved it but it went when I was nearly bankrupt
