again, it depends on the user, and why. most hifi-ers use it to hear new stuff etc before buying. the likes of tidal does that but tbh stops the need to buy as you have it there when you want it at minimum cd level.
its not for everyone, just like all other things. I still buy stuff but not that much now; has to be because I like it a lot and want to support artist

Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I like Spotify, I must admit, but I use it for checking out new music, party playlists and accessing my favourite tracks when I’m away from home.

I treat it as a handy gadget that doesn’t sound half bad, rather than a serious high fidelity source.

+1 also useful in car and for sharing music, but when I'm travelling I also take a DAP loaded with a couple of hundred albums in flac and hiRes formats as it also gives me a better DAC and amp to drive better IEMs

I gave up on Spotify some while back, as I was sure that it was messing with my MBP (MacBook Pro). I can still use the free version if I really feel the need. I still have Napster, which I hardly use, and Qobuz, which I use sparingly. For those who care Qobuz has HD streams, though as I use it mainly for sampling CDs before buying, I have the basic subscription. Some people say that Qobuz is substantially better than Tidal, though it may not have your choice of music.

My brother has a few mp3 downloads and these can sometimes sound better than poorly recorded WAV's.
