    Default Any Dr Who fans?

I've never immediately taken to any new regeneration of Dr Who but all, except Sylvester McCoy, have grown on me after a few episodes. Until now.

I hope it's not because the new Dr is female (Jodie Whitaker is certainly easy on the eye compared to Peter Capaldi) but I just haven't enjoyed the current series at all, it just seems somehow lacking the excitement of previous series and I find myself losing interest easily, in fact I've virtually had to make myself watch the entire series in the hope it would improve.

Any other Dr. Who fans have any thoughts?

It was always a kid's programme and never appealed to me.

Yes me too, I liked Peri with the big...heart.

Pertwee and Baker for me though, never rated any of the others before or since, although that Scottish bloke wasn't bad, David Tennant? Summat like that anyway. Second one after the reboot. Only seen a few of his mind and not rated any of them since.

As for female Doctor - well I'd argue that if a white man can't play Othello then a woman can't be Dr Who, simple as that. Although it's the stories that let it down now, if they got better and they dumped the unhealthy obsession with the characters' sexuality I'd start watching it again. I'll give anything that's sci-fi a go.

Tom Baker was Dr. Who for me, not really been interested after him.

I want to like it but very few episodes appeal to me. I have a Dalek model collection and liked certain episodes featuring the Daleks...thats about it really...many of the other alien monsters were naff with silly budget costumes.

I bought a few of the Dr Who dvds for nostalgia but it only confirmed that it was always a childrens television show. I found the Sea Devil episodes dated and stuck up. The master and all that was very dated and this is BBC london calling....know what I mean there? When I was really young I thought the Sea Devils were scary but its just laughable watching it now.

I think there are only key episodes with Davros and the Daleks which stand up at all now. Tom Baker was my favourite Dr and he did his best with the scripts he was given.

The new episodes of Dr Who left me cold......convoluted, over egged stories. Its like they tried to do too much and it didnt work for me.

Back to my key point that it remains a childrens tv programme and I dont know why so many adults seem to enjoy it....oh hang on Leela, Sarah Jane and Romana

    Yes

I too have Dalek models lol

My Dr is Jon Pertwee but I liked Tom Baker as well. Pertwee was the first Dr my parents allowed me to watch so I missed the previous one. I wasn't old enough to see the first, first time round.

New Who has had a few fabulous stories like the Weeping Angels and Girl in the Fire Place, but other than that the rest is more style over substance.

As each season has gone by its generally got worse. The current run has been bad, but not because of Jodie, just shit writing and badly thought out stories.

The new years special was about the best of a bad lot.

Nostalgia in part, but many I suspect still have a 'little' in them that thrills to such stuff.

I've enjoyed watching the reboot, till this one. Poor story lines and very simplistic "I'm the Dr and you'll loose because I'm the DOCTOR" about sums it up.

Just put the NYD episode on and have given up, bloody Darleks under Sheffield! As much imagination and thought process as my dog has when I throw her ball, I wonder what she'll do

If it was anything else it would have been canned after 3 episodes.
