From what I’ve read the cable it comes with is plenty good enough.

As you say Tony, won’t make any judgements till they have some time on them.
Welcome to hear them any time mate, be interesting to compare to the Senn’s.
sure you'll like them. get a good rep as top cans

ive found the senns really need about 200hrs on them to settle down....dare say yours will need quite a bit of time.

dont know if yours have inner foams but my preference is for removal-akin to removing speaker grills, worth experimentation if an option.

remember you have to re calibrate your ears when on the cans-very different to the big eddies flapping your jeans!!!

Secondary to listening to the main system, but still wanted something decent.

After a fair bit of reading over on HeadFi the choice (to a novice)seemed to swing between ultra revealing monitor style cans or ones meant more for musicality.
Wanted the latter, so after a bit of humming and hawing plumped for a set of Beyerdynamic Amiron.

Well reviewed over on head-fi, and the sound quality being described was what I was looking for.

Another review that swung it for me here:

    So pretty good then...sorted.

A question for headphone guru’s (Tony, you there? )
Is it worth swapping out the cable for something premium?
By all accounts the supplied one is pretty good, but just wondering.

    Thanks much.

Those headphones will really benefit from a dedicated headphone amp at 250 ohms the little dot III version 2.0 can use 6H30 tubes and with the EF95 vishod tubes , RCA and Mullards it is truly a mind blowing experience for not much money.
I will not listen to a good pair of cans with out a good tube amp.

I have spent lots of money on headphone extensions, I started with the cheap Grado Labs extension, it was ok. I moved up to the DiMarzio Big Red very good cable. For a cable that is to good to be true and you can make it your self . Canare L-4E6S and Amphenol connectors. You can easily make an inexpensive 7 meter cable that is as transparent as my far more expensive Di Marzio.

The Canare is star quad 4x 21 awg with a heavy copper shield, use the shield as ground solder the 2x blue leads for R channel and the 2x white leads for L and now you have a 13 awg. extension. (no micro-phonics)
The Amphenol gold plugs are the easiest to fit and solder and the quality is AAA+. I like them better than Switch craft and Nutrik. A little heat shrink in the right places and now you have something darn nice for cheap.

Just have to watch out for noise from the cable during movement if you get a customer cable
