    Default Audiolab 8300A

I'm seriously considering getting one next year. Looks like a capable amp, has enough power for a medium sized room.

    Anyone heard 8300A?

Here's a bit of the history of Audiolab. The blurb on the current Audiolab does not mention that the original designers of their gear are no longer involved.

I have heard this during a play in Richer Sounds, I have to say it was really rather nice, very detailed and airy. Nice and slim, and flexible too. Worth comparing, and can often be found at a good price.

Can you remember what speakers the Audiolab was driving? Did you hear good grip and control as well?

Focal stand mounters, 705 I think. It had no issues controlling them, but they are not particularly revealing speakers. I would say compared to the Cambridge Audio amps, it was much cleaner sounding, better detail, much nicer on the ears.
