I fancied a submariner but saw an Explorer II in Goldsmiths at Lakeside & liked it (the 2nd time zone hand is a nice feature)

I had a nice Citizen watch I wore to work for 15 years. On my last day of work, I went to the bar, and took the watch off and thought to myself, “I won’t need that anymore!”. The gentleman beside me said, “Wow that’s a nice watch you’ve got there!”, I said, “ Its yours”, and gave him the watch on the spot. I haven’t missed it either, as long as I know what hour it is, I’m doing pretty good.

That's the spirit! We all live our lives to the minute these days, and it really shouldn't be like that. And I'm as guilty as anyone

Been wearing a watch since I was about five years old, feels weird not having one on I so always wear one.

Bought myself a gold Pulsar for my thirtieth, still going strong 20 years on. Had a Casio sports/diver thing for the previous 12 years to that. That still works too although needs a strap and a battery.

Although I can no longer read the time on either without looking over the tops of my specs. But a man should have a watch, be it wrist or pocket.

Yes a wristwatch is the mark of a man, rather like cufflinks and Old Spice! And not forgetting St. Bruno pipe tobacco.

I've just finished a bottle of Old Spice! Also thinking about getting a pipe now I'm old enough to get away with it.
