    Default Rega replacement feet

Happy Christmas and New to you all.

I have been looking at replacing my Rega rubber feet on my P25 and have come across some aluminium feet that use either

    3.2mm sorbothane

    Springs

    ceramic ball bearings

    Alloy, ebony wood and spikes

as a way of dealing with vibration.

Does anyone have any experience or views on this?

Once I have changed the feet I will assemble my modded P25

    Thanks

    Lee

Rega themselves now have posher looking feet for some models, but in all seriousness, it's mostly cosmetic and the best way to 'hear' your Rega, modded up or not, is probably via their wall bracket or something very similar, as bass quality suffers otherwise.

I've used the feet with four little coil springs in each and with a massy deck they're effective. With a low mass deck like almost all Regas, if they work at all, they'll 'jitter around' too much I think. The isonoe feet beloved of techie owners tend to shimmy sideways rather than give a vertical bounce and thinking of this latter, maybe a set of Funk 'Bo!ng's' might be worth a look.

I’m in full agreement with DSJR, the best thing you can do to improve the isolation on Rega turntables is to buy the latest lightweight dedicated wall mount, as I have, that and making sure you play records with the dust cover removed will get the best from any Rega.

I use the SRM Tech silent base, it decoupled the motor (which makes a massive difference) and as it uses sorbothane domes for the plinth to sit on effectively isolates it from vibration, it sounds great with plenty of bass.

The Funk Boing feet work very well with Rega.

+1 required with all Rega's to get the best from them.

    Thanks for the input.
Unfortunately with the walls in my house I am unable to put anything up on them. Otherwise I would have bought the Rega wall shelf.

What is the SRM Tech platform like?

When I had a RP3 I tried several different types of feet on it but the rega original where the best IMO
I always use my turntables on a wall shelf with good isolation, which I agree gives the turntable the best isolation

Every man and his dog believe they know better than Rega but their feet are excellent at their job. I've used expensive add ons which did nothing at all or made things worse.
