It's really high quality. The Hull CD isn't as good as the Leeds concert IMO. They just sounded 'on it' in Leeds. Almost like the pressure was off. The recording didn't work properly in Hull or Leeds, which is why they eventually reworked bother recordings into what became 'live at Leeds'.

Truth is, they lifted certain tracks, be it bass lines, vocals, guitar, drums from Hull and repaired Leeds in the end.

It's a bit of a Mish Mash but got damn, it's definitely one of the best live albums of all time IMO.

Used to have an original lal back in the day but flogged it when skint. Yup the first tape of the hull concert lost the bass and they used bass from Leeds to repair it but that was only fairly recently.
Hull was meant to be the one and Leeds was a backup but ended up one of the seminal concerts, probably coz they were relaxed

Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

It just made for a great album. I have the original here too but it's been played out by my dad. Not much good for anything but nostalgia.

Think The Live At Leeds was played at kj West hi shop in London

The Live At Leeds was played at k.j. west hi fi shop in a special evening presentation a year or so back through Naim Statement amplification and some exotic record player ?
Not surprisingly it sounded tremendous ( and live ) though considering the cost of the system it should have done. Might put this record on my shopping list for 2019, pending price ?

Got Pink Floyd "Animals", Beatles "Rubber Soul" and David Byrne's "American Utopia". I'll also be getting something from my girls today, but I can't remember what I asked for. I think it will be "Water of Leith" by Blue Rose Code.

Not sure about The David Byrne one, it'll take a few plays. It came with a download code, and if anyone can make use of this I'll post it on here.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

Cowboy Junkies ‎– The Trinity Session (2*LP)

Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Analog Inputs: Pro-Ject Signature 10 TT & arm, Benz Micro LP-S, Michel Cusis MC, Goldring 2500 and Ortofon Rondo Blue cartridges, Hitachi FT5500 mk2 Tuner

Digital:- Marantz SA-KI Pearl CD player, RaspberryPi/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro, Buffalo NAS Drive

Amplification:- AudioValve Sunilda phono stage, Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-80 power amp
