Welcome to AOS a nice collection of gear you have.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Analog Inputs: Pro-Ject Signature 10 TT & arm, Benz Micro LP-S, Michel Cusis MC, Goldring 2500 and Ortofon Rondo Blue cartridges, Hitachi FT5500 mk2 Tuner

Digital:- Marantz SA-KI Pearl CD player, RaspberryPi/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro, Buffalo NAS Drive

Amplification:- AudioValve Sunilda phono stage, Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-80 power amp

Output: Wilson Benesch Vector speakers, KLH Ultimate One Headphones

Cables: Tellurium Q Ultra Black II RCA & Chord Epic 2 RCA, various speaker leads, & links

I think I am nearing audio nirvana, but don’t tell anyone.

    Hi Martin

    A Radford man, yes.
I inherited the STA100 more than 30 years ago from my teenage brother who had just bought it. I remember it ate Gold Lion valves until I reduced bias current substantially and installed GEC6560 valves which seemed more reliable. I also installed new bias pots and electrolytics. When I acquired the STA25 shortly after I gave the STA100 to another family member whom it served without any trouble until recently when, as he said "it started to distort". Now it is back with me, and when I get time, I will have to take a look at it.
Yes, I am a Radford fan, but as you see, I also own another british amplifier, the TVA1, which i will bring back to life. My brother owns an early TVA1 (serial number 17). Sounds wonderful. Mine (branded Mentmore) was bought defective very cheaply a couple of years ago. It is a problem that mine runs the output valves at 600 Volts in Ultra Linear mode (like the big Radford), and I will have to find a way to reduce the voltage a bit, both on the Radford and the TVA1. No simple solutions, unfortunately.

Worth getting them sorted out though, there's not much old or new that comes close IMO.

    Hello Torben. Welcome to AOS.

That's an interesting selection of equipment you have put together.

Feel free to join in the chat, there's plenty going on.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

It's great to see people and their families hanging onto their Radfords for decades. No surprise really.

Your Snells must sound lovely being driven by the Radfords. Hope you get your STA100 sorted. Perhaps Will at Radford Revival can help?
