I don’t mind the cold of winter, as long as it’s nice and bright. What gets me down are those days when it’s cold but grey, overcast, damp and miserable with it. Then I get a bit gloomy!

I often wonder if those, out with of folks suffering from medical conditions, who "feel gloomy" at the mere sight of a grey cloud [I'm exaggerating, but you get the gist] are prone to such feelings, due to their gloomy lives, and a sense of unhappiness or discontentment, perhaps occurring under the surface and causing some from of depression, and which is exacerbated by bad weather?

I'm convinced that if you're a happy and contented person, with no such issues and a 'sunny disposition', who genuinely enjoys life (count me in) then you'll always feel happy, no matter the weather!

I like nice spring and autumn days when sun is out but its not too hot. a slight cooling breeze too if it gets a bit warmer. Prefer winter to 40c tho.

Me, too! I can't stand it when I can't feel cool, no matter what I do, as frequently happens here during the summer here. The fact is, it's far easier to get warm when it's cold, than cool down when it's hot!

I'm not seeing much in the way of gloomy people in these pages, just a lot of folk who are not keen on the extended darkness and cold weather of winter. I don't think of myself as miserable, I just have preferred seasons.

As is widely reported, there are plenty of "gloomy" people living on the streets this winter. Not necessarily gloomy by nature, many will be regular folk caught up in gloomy circumstances.

Yeah I completely agree, and if it were up to me, I'd ERADICATE homelessness here in the UK, as it's a disgrace a country like this has so many people sleeping rough on the streets. Just take the money needed off all the fat cats!

In terms of feeling happy all year round, regardless of the weather, for me it's simple:

Winter = enjoy snuggling up beside the log fire in a cosy candlelit room, with glass of something nice to drinnk, and look forward to Christmas, especially if it snows.

Spring = enjoy all the lovely colours of the changing landscape and new flowers, warmer weather, and look forward to summer.

Summer = enjoy the good weather (hopefully) and all the outdoor eating/drinking/socialising, long days, and look forward to going on holiday.

Autumn = enjoy the changing colours of the landscape, lovely russet-leaved trees, the end of uncomfortably hot summers (which has been the case recently) and a nice freshness in the air, and look forward to winter.

Key: find JOY in ALL the seasons... No need to feel gloomy, ever!
