“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

    Hello James. Welcome to AOS.

We have quite a few members with experience of Pioneer CD players, so somebody may be able to advise. I'd suggest starting a thread in the Digital Expressions section and asking your questions.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Hi James,

Sometimes the LCD display can fade, break up and even disappear on older components. But if you google 'Fading LCD display' you'll find plenty of sites telling you how to remedy this.

I have a Pure Evoke Flow DAB radio which did this, so I followed the suggestions on one of these sites. It didn't take long, and when I put it back together and switched on - it was as bad as ever. But don't let that put you off, it may be just my lack of talent/patience.

Or you could pay someone to fix it for you. Good luck!
