Could be interested in this route. Is there a guide showing how to remove the integrated PSU?

    Edit: An alternative solution

Damn, that guide is quite an eye opener.

I'm torn between clean power supply and clean signal. Do I power it from a battery pack and suffer under WiFi as the signal input or do I use ethernet and suffer under the power supply from the mains?

In my case it is NOT due to poor WiFi. My router is just 1.5m from the CCA and low ping / very good down and upload speeds.

The improvement comes in turning off the wireless receiver / transmitter in CCA, which cleans up the sound.

I and others have found the same thing on PC and RPi based music servers too.

I'd need to hear it and compare main power and wired connection Vs battery power and wireless connection..which improves sound more? Interesting experiment

There is a good thread over on TAS comparing the different power and signal implementations.

Wondering how the battery sounds compared to the mains?

some powerbanks are better than others. not sure why, it may be the electronics in them.

In my opinion there is a considerable difference between mains and battery. Considering I'm using a portable phone charger it's actually quite staggering the difference to the mains

I wonder if there is any correlation between how well/fast it charges things (phone etc) and how good it sounds powering the CCA

Hard to go wrong with Anker in most instances. The one I've got is good but can't escape the thought that there's one better
