Default Howard Lemon Oil Wood Polish

Anybody tried this stuf ? https://newlifewoodconditioners.com/...l-wood-polish/

    Can highly recommend !

Just used a little on my ebony armboard and my walnut finished Spendors.

Nourishes and brings the natural detail out in the wood.

Non waxy and has a beautiful lemon scent- very pleased

Yes, we always keep a bottle of this on hand. Great stuff for furniture (no silicone!) and audio gear. I used it to rejuvenate the plinth of our Heybrook TT2 and the teak cabinets of some early '90's era KEF 103.2 speakers and stands. It's too light for heavy-use items like dining tabletops, but for everything else it's terrific. Leaves a nice sheen.

    Yep,

    I'm really impressed with it.

Brought the ebony armboard back to really looking like ebony and the dark walnut on the Spendors look..., well proper dark walnut, grain finish brought out lovely, and then that fresh lemon scent in the room is an added bonus

    Not so bro.

Leave a smaller piece of wood without touching it for years, carvings etc etc and see how it actually can start to dry out.

Then rub it over with some kind of wood wax, oil etc - There's a big difference to that piece of wood and it is a sense of nourishing. I see why that word is used.

Cool if you dont go with it though, but I do and certainly did today

I have a few large hardwood carvings. I agree that it is important to give them some TLC so once a year, or more if they look a bit dull, I give them an oiling and rub down. However, I use a homemade concoction of olive or rape seed oil, with a little bit of tea tree oil to add a nice smell. The carvings are pretty large so I apply the mix with a cheap brush and leave to seep in for a few hours. Then I get an old cotton rag (usually an old sock) and work the oil into the wood. If I wanted a lemon scent I would add some lemon oil extract, typically less than a quid from Asda. I have just done Humphrey the Hippo and he is glowing!

i wasn't knocking the product just the sales spiel, yes i agree bare wood will obviously look different but you are not nourishing or feeding or conditioning or doing anything else to the wood other than putting a coating of it on.
if the wood already has a finish on it then its just sitting on top as well.
