So is the Ortofon P45 - whatever that is. And the JR 149 is streets ahead of everything! Which seems...improbable.

I remember Ortofon speakers. I think they had about as much impact on the UK market as Lenco speakers did. In other words, even less successful than the ill fated Rank Domus range.

I listened to a pair of these speakers many years ago at an audio dealer at the back of
Borough market at London Bridge as I recall i think they were an active speaker
They did sound very impressive. For £200 it’s work dipping your toe.

I seem to recall they did several models.
Which one are you interested in, Craig?

If they are anything like these Quasar speakers, I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole. Cheap nasty drivers with even nastier plastic 'bling' trims around them.

    Urk.
Yes, well - if they're like those modern horrors then don't bother.
If they are of the older late 70s persuasion then give them a listen if you can.

These look nothing like the ones I listened to.
These look like something Del Boy would sell out the back of his
    Three wheeler.

I thought it was shiny dustcaps that were the harbinger of crapness?

    Some JBL have white cones.
