    Default Quasar Loudspeakers

Anybody heard of these? Not to be confused with the P.A company.

There’s a pair up for sale locally, the person is expecting £200 unless advised they’re not worth that.

I have a vague recollection that they were cheaper JBL under a new name, could be wrong.

I think you are thinking of Bolivar.

The only Quasar I can find (other than the pro stuff) are some open baffle kits. http://www.bd-design.nl/contents/en-us/d40.html

I think you're right. Quasar still rings a bell, can't remember which bell though. Perhaps I've seen Quasar speakers in an old speaker comparison in a Hi Fi magazine

An image of a squiggly 'q' badge came immediately to mind, from back in the late 70s or 80s??!

I defo seem to recall Quasar speakers from back then. Moderate sized standmounts. They were quite well thought of??

    Maybe. Perhaps.

The good old days when mags did proper reviews with measurements with a decent graph and on and off axis response measured. Nowadays it's just two pages of waffle about the emotion from the singer's voice

Anyway, three-way with a 12 inch bass driver, what's not to like?
