I'm a bit confused as to whether the amounts shown in the drop-down menu are say, monthly amounts. annual, or one-off payments. A contributor may for instance be happy to pay £5 per month but are not able to stump up £60 in one go for a year's worth. Is it possible here to make monthly payments by standing order/direct debit? Am I overthinking this?

All contributions are one-off payments, unfortunately the system we use doesn't handle ongoing subscriptions, but the thought is very kind!

    Hi Nick,

A one-off payment will undoubtedly help in the short term, but surely that money will run out at some point. Perhaps a repeated post when that point approaches will ensure continued 'solvency'. Again, apologies if I'm making things look unnecessarily complicated.

How long does my coveted AOS Contributor badge last?

Will I be shown up as a cheapskate after 6 months by the disappearance of the coveted badge if I don't deliver another dollop of £mullah?

    These things matter, you know!

Of course they matter - if your badge is suddenly taken away, it's going to look bare up there, a bit like when you take down your Christmas decorations

.... perhaps a polite reminder by PM after 1 year along the lines of "It is now a year since your last generous donation to the upkeep of the forum, perhaps you would consider shoving in another dollop?" - or similar.

EDIT: or after a day, as it might be.
