I bet someone like you who knows their onions may well get it working fine. Alas I dont, but it was supposed to be easy for beginners, and im a bit better than that and failed. Most everything has an embedded HTTP page - you should be able to track down the NAS IP address on your router by looking at connected devices, or you could try using a network sniffer app.
Once found, reserve the IP address on the router, and go into NAS admin and make it a static address.
No unpleasant bending!

Has that ok. Had the web up connected to it ok. It was mapping it that was one of the issues. Also when I used the drop function it dropped it but didn't upload actual music just file names. iPhone app wouldn't connect either.
Just way to many issues for me to overcome
