Default MS System 442 Tweeter Replacement

    Hi All,

I have sourced two replacement tweeters for my System 442.

The issue now is how do I get to the existing tweeters. I have read that simply undoing the the tweeter screws is a no-no.

One post suggested that I need to remove the mid driver dust cap, remove the connecting bolt and dismantle from there. This seems somewhat drastic given the risk to magnets on the retightening of the bolt.

Has anyone attempted this procedure before? Any guidance will be warmly received.

    Many thanks,

    Martin

I’m afraid you do. The tweeters mount to the rear of the baffle plate and to get this out, the connecting rod between the drivers must be removed. This is indeed achieved by gently removing the dust cap from the front driver and undoing the nut you’ll find beneath.

Thanks Adam. Wishful thinking there on my behalf. I'm sure simplier than refoaming of my Kef 104/2. Martin
