Let's have an organised "click day", to raise as many 8p's as we can, followed by a big piss-up day where we take all the 8p's to a centrally-located pub.

I've had "the procedure" done already - now I need to get someone drunk enough to appreciate my baldy-head, combined with oversized ladyparts. Which is why I suggested the piss-up.

Or I could just move to North Wales, no need to get them drunk, just need to learn the Welsh for "stick it in there before I change my mind"

Sounds about right - me and a friend were once in a nightclub, and he said to this girl "Your tit's hangin' out" She promptly took it out and replied "You'd better put it back then". Which he did.

Not been on this forum for a while, and at first I didn't notice any difference. This is presumably because my default browser on my MBP is Firefox + an ad blocker. If I come across a site which doesn't work, and I really want it to, then I switch browsers - usually to Safari, but sometimes to Chrome.

Consequently I've not seen any "problems" which affect me. I understand the funding issues.

Does this site have to be funded by advertising? On the whole I thoroughly detest advertising - for example on TV, but I understand that other funding models don't always work well.

I use Wikipedia quite a lot, and I do on occasions fork out to support that web site. While I guess that many members here would perhaps not wish to subscribe, and also that there would be extra work involved by the site providers to get a different funding model operating, perhaps a modest subscription ("voluntary donation?") might relieve the problem and compared with the cost of a high end DAC or pickup cartridge etc., would be relatively insignificant for those who find this site worthwhile.

Good to hear that. Mixed mode models could also work. Even though I'm not a huge fan of adverts, that could also be a viable option. There are other possibilities - I don't know which would work best for this site, but I could, and probably would, fork out £10 to keep it going, though not necessarily on an annual basis. Over the years I've had more than ten quids worth of fun and help from this resource.

Another site I use is IMSLP - Petrucci Music Library - which has also changed its interface over the last year, and now for around £20 per year heavy users (subscribers) get immediate access to music scores. Light users can in most cases still get free access, but with a delay. See IMSLP.
