    Aside from utility work, you are likely to come across highway improvement works over the next few months, as local authorities start using up all their capital funding in time to justify next year's allocation for the new financial year in April. They have already started here, I drove past three big schemes today that are just starting.

    Unrelated, what is this idiotic business of making main roads narrower and reducing junction entries from two lanes to one? I've seen happening on main routes all over the place. Doesn't seem a helpful idea to me. Bloody stupid more like!
