    Default FS: Radford M90 loudspeakers

Purchased from Andyrlb in the summer, I've enjoyed these - rather superb with my Radford STA100 - but time to let them go to an other owner.

These are from the mid-70s and like a bit of power up them - they were nice with the Radford STA25 but really came into their own with the 100w amp with more oomph and lower bass. They sounded very good indeed with 60w+ solid state too and I'm fairly sure that this was what they were designed to be used for.

Sound is detailed, extended, well balanced and very engaging - think Spendor SP1 or Celestion Ditton 44 which are both similar-ish three-way designs. The Radford was a premium speaker in its day.

See Andy's thread here, the condition is the same - https://theartofsound.net/forum/show...ht=radford+m90

See also his thread where he re-capped them https://theartofsound.net/forum/show...d-monitor-m-90

I'm looking for £120 collected from the Bracknell/Reading area - happy to meet up for a handover in a sensible radius. No problem to demonstrate with the Radford amp.

Andy has kindly allowed me to use his pics (since my photography is not so good):

Yes, that's a lot of speaker for a very reasonable price. Radford always did make good speakers.

    Good luck with the sale.

Just to say in response to queries I will measure these tonight but they aren't nearly as huge as they appear in the pics, I would say tall standmounts rather than floorstanders. I used them best on short stands.

Absolutely bargain, I had the same pair and sold on eBay for ~£500 to a buyer from Hong Kong.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
