No! TBH David it took me nearly 3 weeks to find a slot to review the mat, young kids and a busy business life wreaks havoc with my vinyl obsession. I have tried the Tenuto on my 1210 and my Lenco and didn't really like it. Each platter is different on each deck and TBH each system is slightly voiced for a different genre of music. I use the Tenuto mainly for Jazz whilst the Crystal mat which used to sit on the 1210 was used for Thrash/Heavy Metal/Prog. I'm now beginning to wonder if the non-metallic stainless steel has the ability to express high treble energy compared to the Tenuto and I wonder if this is why they went down the route of Gun Metal v's stainless steel. I honestly don't know. Maybe when I get a little time I should try the SSS mat on the 301.Originally Posted by Moko

Please do...I quite fancy one of these mats for my 401 but unfortunately I was too busy with work to take up the kind offer of a loan when the manufacturer was over in London recently so I’m just going to have to rely on others reviews before making up my mind.

You have a problem straight away. The 301 & 401 platters (I think) were casted differently, so your going to hear different things. Additionally I'm not sure how good your platter speed is controlled, mine is controlled to 0.01 rpm so I'm probably going to hear differences in pitch which may not be accurate to your own experiences.

I am completely confused by mats per say, I have tried a rubber one and a cork one on my previous TT and in both cases the results were dissapointing in one way or the other. Since buying a Michell TT I have resisted the temptation to adorn it with a mat, trusting to the platter, although I admit I have changed from the standard Gyrodec mat, sorry platter, to the a big fat mat/platter called an Orbe, there was an improvement, so thick is best.
