    Thanks for the kind comments everyone, interesting regarding the grilles though, I will probably fabricate some new full length grilles to see how they look

    Yes its a true wood veneer that is bonded onto laminate backing and pre finished with a high gloss phenolic resin for durability

    Thanks for the info Frank, I was initially thinking about front porting these but I like the tight bass these currently have, In your experience would porting make much of a difference ?

    If you are happy I'd stay where you are, the 12" MG(not the 12R(rubber) has a Fs of 49hz and worked well in the Lancaster but without knowing how your driver has aged I'd leave it be and be content ;-)
