I'd do both then follow it with the hokey cokey.

How did you know about that? I assume you mean the time I missed my stop and jumped off a Routemaster doing 30 mph and got a little bump. Managed to get to the bar where I was meeting people ok. Head was stuck to the pillowcase the next morning though. Still got a bald patch there now

A doctor would have advised you to leave the pillow attached until the wound healed. But they don't live in the real world do they?

    BEV,

I'm a foot specialist so listen carefully. IT IS IMPERATIVE YOU GET WEIGHT BEARING X-RAYS! You are LEGALLY ENTITLED to a copy of your X-rays, so ask for a copy. I would counsel a weight bearing lateral and DP view, alongside a non-weight bearing oblique. I'm happy to assess your injuries if you can get some photo's of your X-rays. I see X-rays every day. Tomorrow I'm doing some consulting work looking over X-rays.

    Regards

    A

PS Don't panic, the foot is a pretty robust and well engineered piece of kit.

Yep, the guys are right Bev, the big toe is very important to the way you walk and balance so make sure it is treated properly.

I busted one of my metatarsals a couple of years ago just by walking down 2 steps and my foot twisted sideways on the bottom step. Went straight to A & E and had it X-Rayed immediately, the technician sad it was a classic "Dancer's injury" which I wore with pride for 8 weeks while it healed. Imagine that, a fat old fart like me having an exotic bust bone to brag about LOL

I broke mine but I never considered going to emergency. Or the vet. I didn't think they could do anything for it. Just drank some brandy to dull the pain and had the day off work. It hurt to walk on for a few weeks but then it was okay.

Well I've been to the 'hobble-in' centre..

It looks like I've done a right number on my toe as it's broken in three places but luckily the other toes are ok which they said is unusual for this type of break. It's the first thing I've ever broken

I've now got a really sexy massive boot thingy to wear for two weeks so no driving and have a follow up appointment in two weeks time... nightmare
