    Default Hello Everybody

My name is Gary, I live in Gloucestershire with my wife, who naturally has no interest in hifi, kids are grown up and left home.

My system is definitely at the budget end of the spectrum and consists of
    Marantz CD63KI
    Pioneer A656 Reference
    Quadral Rondo Phonologues
    Atacama Stands

I'm considering venturing back to vinyl at some point

My musical taste is quite varied, everything from classical to Rammstein but mostly rock and lots of Pink Floyd

    I think that's everything

    Thanks for having me

    Default Not so budget!

    Hello Gaz,

    And Welcome!

I've only been on this site just over a year myself and I'm no expert, but the folks on this site have given a lot of help and one year on HIFI wise, I'm in a much better position and enjoying the sound of my system.

Your system is looking a fair bit better than mine when I joined and certainly not the budget end of budget.

I can't really help with the vinyl side of things I only listen to flacs mostly, but you'll shortly be swamped with people who can help and with a knowledge to impress.

    Good luck,
    Rob.

    Hi Gary and welcome.
At least your amplifier has a phono input, MC as well as MM I see. Get yourself a Lenco GL75 and you are good to go.

There is a very good example here https://theartofsound.net/forum/show...ght=Lenco+GL75
If your budget doesn't stretch that far you can pick up original condition ones for a lot less then improve as you and the budget see fit.
If you want to hear what they are capable of you are welcome to visit.

I am sure that once your back in vinyland again then you will be soon wondering what to do with the CD's etc. I did the same 3 years ago and it has now become a bit of an obsession hunting out the good records to be found in charity and 2nd hand shops, they are there you just need to go and look regularly.

Welcome to Art of Sound, there are some very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable people on here.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Analog Inputs: Pro-Ject Signature 10 TT & arm, Benz Micro LP-S, Michel Cusis MC, Goldring 2500 and Ortofon Rondo Blue cartridges, Hitachi FT5500 mk2 Tuner

Digital:- Marantz SA-KI Pearl CD player, RaspberryPi/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro, Buffalo NAS Drive

Amplification:- AudioValve Sunilda phono stage, Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-80 power amp

Output: Wilson Benesch Vector speakers, KLH Ultimate One Headphones

Cables: Tellurium Q Ultra Black II RCA & Chord Epic 2 RCA, various speaker leads, & links

I think I am nearing audio nirvana, but don’t tell anyone.
