Default For Sale World Audio WD88VA XL KT88 push pull integrated

Having to bite the bullet and sell this as the reality is that I just can't find a safe place for exposed valves with young children (ours are fine but the friends are not!) :-(

Very nice World Audio WD88VA with XL mods. (Schottky diodes, Soniqs caps which are I believe made by claritycap and great big Evox Rifa PSU caps)

This is an integrated amp with relay switched inputs and is rated at 35W / channel but with the XL mods it is amazingly grunty - my favoured amp with my Apogee Caliper Signatures, even at loud volume levels, (We also used it with Justin's Apogee Duetta Sigs) if it can drive these it can drive pretty much anything I'd think.

Nice compliment of valves and the best valve set after many attempts at tube rolling: -
It has a matched set of Svetlana Winged C KT88 power valves
    NOS Tungsol 5687s
    Blackburn micro tubes E813cc (rare)

For the purchaser I will also offer to purchase a new set of Matched Svetlana Winged C's for sale (otherwise I'll keep them).

I believe this was originally built by Shian7 and I purchased from Gromit many years ago but it's had little use in the last 7 years due to arrival of children.

Very good condition and is very heavy. One of the rear speaker mounting posts has been bent slightly at some point (prior to my purchase) but works without issue.

I would like £675 collected for this (Hampshire/Surrey Border) (Extra valves will cost additional)

Bump - still here despite some interest.

it's all tag board inside so not prone to PCB failure due to heat like some valve amps.

These are £1545 new and unbuilt (without the expensive valves as well) so very cheap.

You could do with the lockable cabinet I'm selling on here, then you can keep the valve system going

One of the friends did (different valve amp BTW that was better hidden).... Whilst it was on and some how managed to pull a valve out. It's just not worth the risk.

I use this amp with my Apogee caliper speakers (my favourite amp with them!) and TBH it's the speakers that are the main child safe issue, they can easily put a toy or hand through the membrane and that is £1000's to replace.

    Hi,
The xl mods :- Schottky diodes, Soniqs SAX caps which are I believe made by claritycap and great big Evox Rifa PSU caps

Additionally the speaker binding posts are big upgraded wbt style, clear light cone feet and I believe the pot is run in shunt mode.
