That shouldn't be too hard to track down. You may find a toggle switch bezel fits.

Should it look anything like the bezel on this Neutric jack socket?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

I’ve just been looking on there too and found plenty of the nut type 6.5mm ones but I think it should be a gnarled type or a plain chrome ring , I know it doesn’t make a lot of difference but my ocd won’t allow me to fit the wrong type ( coz I’m nuts )

Sounds like it could be a dry joint or broken connection. You can poke the insides with a wooden dowel while the amp is on and plugged into the system. If there is a bad joint and you find it with the dowel you’ll hear it through the speakers.

I might have a plastic bezel for a 6.35mm socket I can send you, if I can find it?

Is there a capacitor fitted across the power switch?
I understand these are used to reduce arcing inside the switch.

I've had vintage kit in the past where this cap burns out after prolonged storage....there may be a crack and small puff of smoke causing one to kill the power in a panic. Then when you power back up.....no perceived fault

    Worth a check.

Well I now wonder if the fuse with the spring in it could have made the pop sound ? I have had the amp running all day yesterday and for most of this morning and it’s fine .
