If I've already had my SEG supercapped will the Dorado provide any further benefit? I'd be using it with a 15v MCRU linear PSU which I bought for the supercap upgrade, so I'm hoping that will still work.

The Dorado has to be heard and experienced in action before you get the idea behind it. I remember when I first demonstrated it, nobody took it serious when I showed it. But that all changed when I switched the SEG on to let listeners judge for themselves. And with my no nonsense money back guarantee you won't be left with an unwanted item if you are not 110% satisfied.

I got my Dorado and SEG-30 firmware this morning and left them running during the day. I have been powering my SEG from a 12V Tracer LiFePO4 battery, which I also use to power a pair of Temple mono blocks.

First impressions with the Dorado/SEG-30 combo set at 15V and powered by a 16V switching PSU are very good - more open sound, better separation of instruments, detail I had not heard before, more controlled bass... As before it sounds best to me when the SEG is set to one "flash" compared to three flashes, but the latter now sounds more open than it did before.

I then tried the Dorado set at 12V and compared it against the 12V battery. Frankly I could not tell any discernible difference. This is still a very good result since the battery costs about 3 times the Dorado/PSU combination. So for me, the 15V (and probably the SEG-30) is making the biggest difference which means I'll have to try Stan's superclock/supercaps upgrade next...

I'd love to have something similar to power my RPI 3+ instead of from the USB output of a 5V LiIon battery.
    Cheers

    Alastair

The 12V setting on the Dorado is for the Caiman MKII and the Bushmaster MKI & MKII ( I am still fine tuning the firmware for each if those). At 12V the SEG is not firing on all cylinders. At 12V on a battery things get even worse when used with the Dorado. On a battery with a low ampere per hour discharge rate the 12V battery is just not fast enough in its ability to supply energy to the Dorado for the Dorado to do its stuff. So the Dorado doesn't get activated properly when used with a 12V battery.
