For those interested Tim has released a new version of Moode and has finally reverted back to providing an ISO image download in place of the painful build mechanism in the past few releases.
Pesonnally I have moved over to Volumio but I may give this a try again.

For those who use Spotify, it's integrated in Moode 4.3 and it works well.
If there are any problems, Moode now has its own forum.

got it downloaded and extracted. just need an sd card now. will have to go some to beat both volumio and picoreplayer/lms tho.

That's good to know, one of the reasons I went away from MoOde was the lack of Spotify integration.
I don't use an rPi just now as I have a better player but I might just install 4.3 on the mothballed one to see how it looks/sounds now.

I like volumio now, much better than before but it still updates the USB drive if I powered off at some point.

I tried Moode but stuck with Volumio in the end but I cant remember why now. Will give the new version a try as I like the idea of a parametric eq. I have a suck out at around 125 hz and a peak at 100 hz in my room. Might be able to mitigate it a bit.
