    Unhappy Tweeter replacement

I am now well retired, and enjoying it! I bought a system in 1983 , comprising Creek 4040 amp, Rega Planar 2, plus tuner (can’t remember number), Rega speakers EL8.Have loved the amp , replaced the tuner eventually -Onkyo, still have the TT, plus recent upgrades, all now set up in my man cave.

Recent damage to one of the tweeters requires replacement , managed to get a replacement from Amazon of all places, now due. But in preparation for fitting , I removed the two elements holding it to the speaker, and in so doing managed to drop/release something within the cabinet. Out of reach! Any suggestions on retrieval? Without dismantling the box? I thought about access via the back , behind the woofer.
Can you help me? I understand from my supplier that I should replace the other tweeter (horrors!)
PS Any pics of the inside of the box would be appreciated.

    Hello Raymond. Welcome to AOS.

There are quite a few retired folk here and plenty of younger members too.

I suggest you visit the Blank Canvas section and start a thread there with your speaker questions. I expect you will get plenty of replies.

Feel free to join in any chat that interests you.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.

Hi Raymond, welcome to the forum.

Re. item lost in cabinet: could you perhaps retrieve it with a magnetic pick up tool? They look like a telescopic aerial but magnetic at the end, and probably only cost a couple of quid. Car boot sale or Amazon probably your best bet.

Tipping it upside down and giving it a bit of a shake often works!
