Where has my bass gone? :-(

Hi Adrian,
Yes - I know. However, as I posted previously, moving around the room produces very little difference in perceived bass and for there to be a pronounced bass trough somewhere in the room you would expect a peak elsewhere and I can't find one. Also, my new speakers are sounding distinctly more bassy in the same position.

Please don't take this the wrong way but have you really lost bass or have your ears?

Well, I hear the bass just fine in my other systems so Occam's razor suggests my ears are not the problem :-)
