    I'm Paul.

    Smile Hello, belatedly it seems.

Hi my name's Paul, 50 years old and from Southend-on-Sea in Essex, England.

TBH I thought I had already posted a welcome thread back when I signed up, but I was probably starring through the bottom of a bottle of ale.

Anyway got an Arcam Alpha CD and AV50 Amp, some Mission floorstanders a mate donated, a pair of 15-10-1 3 way bins I built myself that chuck out over 1K each. I play my vinyl through a non-retail Rega Planar 3, my mate worked at Rega and sourced the parts himself and a Naim Nait 1 that was also at Rega in their cartridge dept. (needs a re-cap now I think).

I tend to play most of my digital stuff streamed from a drive hung off a Raspberry Pi into my PC via foobar.

I'm planning to get the 24v motor upgrade on the turntable (for about 5 years now) and will probably grab a Chord Mojo this year.

Thanks if you read this and be lucky.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
