    Default Lamp for thorens td160

    So i bought a thorens td160.
It has a rega arm, so as usual the arm lift selector/knob is redundant/has been removed.

Now, i’m a tad visually challenged.
Using the thorens would be easier with it lit up...particularly the arm.

I thought a turntable lamp would be useful.

    Has anyone any reccomendations?

It would be nice to adapt tne empty lift selector ‘hole’.
If i were a turntable wizzard i would incorporate the light in a replacement selector know which would also turn the light on and off. But beyond me.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Might be worth a chat with Grant (Struth). I think he experimented with a few.

something like a gooseneck lamp would do you without breaking the bank and should blend in and give sufficient light. thre are lots to choose from... like this,

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

I was hoping for something that could be attached to cover the arm lift selector hole.
Then just run a cable through.

I have one of these, £10 from Ikea.

Its a clamp but maybe you could remove it from the clamp and fix it into the hole somehow? Not sure how big the hole is or what is underneath.

Don't you fret, I ain't going to propose you to set up a goose neck lamp into that 'cue' hole... I understand your concern and your situation, but a lamp there won't have much use I believe. A led, will likely generate an undesired magnetic field. I personally fixed a round water/spirit level at that place. Much more practical, cheap and easy to install.
