    Default Hi there

Hello everyone, nice to be here

My name is Alun and im from the UK. Have always been interested in hifi but only recently have i been able start putting together a half decent system. Im primarily interested in vinyl playback currently have a Michell Orbe with a Roksan Nima tonearm going into a Soneteer Sedley. My amp is an Arcam Delta 290 and speakers are a pair of Monitor Audio gold floor standers. It sounds good but always thinking about the next upgrade

    Hi Alun. Welcome to AOS.

Tell us what music you listen to and what your next system changes are likely to be.

If you want any opinions, just find the right section and ask questions.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.

    Hi Geoff,

See above for music taste. I am about to purchase an SME IV to replace the Nima, really looking forward to that I might also get a 2M black stylus to replace the bronze in due course. Ultimately I would like to get a new orbe motor and controller to replace the old ac papst unit and QC controller, not sure if I can swing that as well currently

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
