    the camera really doesn't do it justice robbie,lots of figure that pops up when viewed from left to right,its very similar to rio rosewood.

    cheers antonio,me too

    some more progress made yesterday.
    first job was to profile the final shape of the plinth,as you can see the veneer press has come up trumps again!
    all boards and veneer pressed tightly with no gaps and a very small glue line.


    once the finished size was routed it was back home to lay the veneer,ive not done any veneering in years,i used to do it on a daily basis,i was a little nervous but ive still got the touch! lol



    the adhesive used to bond the veneer to the panzerholz ground was whest epoxy,very easy to use and no creep of the veneer joints.
    it turned out better than i could have hoped for,no gap in the joint and and nice and flat.

    the next job on the list is to do the cut out for the tt and then veneer the sides.



    heres a couple of pics with the veneer dampened with meths to give an indication of the colour .hmmm tasty

    cheers oli,i hope so,ive also bought a lathe today with a milling head so amongst other things thats the feet sorted for it

    You may as well get fully kitted out as I think when this is done, you will be the resident AoS plinth maker.
