    Default One or two changes

Thought I'd post a few pictures of the current array of stuff.
The turntable is the original Toshiba as the one I customized has developed an annoying electrical fault.
The Cambridge CXC transport is doing sterling work along with the Musical Fidelity X dac and V3 tube buffer.
The latest change is in the amplifier department, the Musical Fidelity A3 has gone and I'm now using the Nakamichi CA 5 as the pre amp and not just as a phono stage and the Proton AA 1150 DMC power amp. I really like the strength of the sound and the surprisingly delicate delivery from the Proton. And it's got great big VU meters, very pretty.
Speakers are still the Mordaunt Short Signifiers, I can't see me parting with them any time soon.
The last photo has the Musical Fidelity amp in it which has now gone.

Thanks Timothy. The Mordaunt Short Signifers are pretty rare old beasts, they're around 35 years old now but they sound so rich and involving. I bought them from an old friend of mine and fellow AOS member who had the original factory stands, boxes and paperwork. I've got the front grilles which are in great shape but really do look very dated so they are safely stored away.

I bought the X10 from you Grant, it really warms the CD sound.

Thought that might have been mine, but my memory is shot. It's been well upgraded. Sounded great. Think Jamie may have my ca5.

Two new additions, first is the passive RVC which sounds very neutral and is nice and discrete. The second is the Denon HA-500 head amp which has been breathed on by Phonomac, it's giving the Nakamichi phono stage more air and detail. I'm very happy with the way things are going.

I recall reading some very good things about the Proton when it first came out. A most impressive amp by spec. I’ve always wanted a listen!
