    Yes, I find some special charm in vintage gear and media (cassette tapes, reel tapes, records).
    But I use HiRes files and DACs as well. It's less charm but more convenience. And the sound quality could be impressive (which might be valid for vintage too).
    Here is some past and present synergy in my kitchen

    But vintage or not if the music can put a smile on your face - everything is OK.

    Love that tape deck. Designed back when they knew how to make hi-fi look cool. Not as cool as the Pioneer kit you have though. I really want that rig
