    Default John Bamford RIP

Earlier this afternoon I learnt the sad news that John Bamford passed away last night after a long battle with cancer

John was an industry stalwart for the best part of four decades, John had aabeen editor of some of the UK's top audio publications as well as a long tenure with Pioneer GB and in the last deacde a well respected reviewer for Hifi News.

Above all that John was a good friend and throughly decent kind hearted individual who' love of music was infectious as was his humour!

He never let his illness get him down even when he was at a low ebb one of the few decent chaps in this business, the industry has lost a great ambassador and very knowledgeable gent, we have lost a good friend best wishes to his close family

Very sad news. I asked Paul Miller how he was a couple of months back as he hasn’t written for News in a while, and his face said it all.

He was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour - he will be missed.

My condolences to all his friends and family.
