As per title, pristine condition pair of Cherry wood Summit X's, bought from PFM trade seller 3 years ago one previous owner well looked after. A really great example. Nothing at this price second hand comes close IMHO.

    £6999 .

Have all boxes for transport...I will deliver to anywhere in UK mainland
    Or pick up Worcester

    Cash or bank transfer.

Genuine reason for sale , which I may regret. Unfortunately I don’t have the opportunity to enjoy them as much as these deserve. I’m opting for studio type monitors in an AV setup.

without a doubt , the best speakers i ever had . visitors could not get over how something see through could produce such a sound . one young civil engineer kept going round the back and looking through in disbelief . they are supremely adjustable to your room with the 2 knobs at the back which makes them extremely versatile . highly recommended

I recently listened to some Martin Logan electrostatic speakers. Don't recall the specific model, but looked about like the ones in this post. I would consider them a specialist type speakers. Sound truly outstanding with singer-songwriter and jazzy music, but for electronica (Kraftwerk, Devo, Die Haut, Xeon and Oaklander, ...) they fall flat. Was really surprised by that. my newbie 2c.

There are several models over the years and it’s true they struggled with bass , but they hit the jackpot with the Summit X .. not to be confused with the older Summit. Believe me if these speakers couldn’t play Devo correctly I wouldn’t have bought them. The bass is magnificent with these. So well integrated which ML had struggled with in the past. I’m not the jazzy classical type of guy ! They are note perfect across the range and present such a holographic image which washes over you . Once you listen to them you’d fall in love with what they can achieve immediately. I’m only selling because I’m going full AV with a drop down screen and need space , so I’m going studio monitor. Otherwise these would have been my end goal speakers for life.

The MartinLogan Summit X is one such product, delivering reference-grade performance that you’d struggle to match at double the price. This could spell the end of monkey coffins for many listeners. Go hear now!

The Summit X is the latest step in MartinLogan’s ongoing quest for electrostatic perfection...When these speakers make their special magic, they’ll likely astound and emotionally move even the most experienced and hardened audiophile.

No matter what kind of music you like to listen to, the Summit X will deliver the goods. The main strength of the Summit X is that it throws a huge soundfield in all directions, giving the listener a very immersive experience. This is the MartinLogan magic at its best. These are speakers that you will respond to strongly

The key point is that a planar transducer is able to synthesize the impression of a height perspective with reasonable realism, whereas a small midrange or mid-woofer driver tends to collapse image size to a tidy point within the soundstage. Perhaps it’s a personal preference or a question of being within one’s comfort zone, but when I kick back to enjoy the music it’s far easier for me to accept the Summit’s version of reality. No subwoofers need apply. I’ve had no interest in complicating matters with an external subwoofer. And why should I with bass extension approaching 20Hz and superlative midbass dynamics. My enthusiasm for the Summit X has not diminished over the past several years. Speakers have come and gone, but it is still one of the main pillars of my reference system, and in my estimation, a classic in the making.

MARTIN LOGAN SUMMIT X LOUDSPEAKER REVIEW
For me, Martin Logan’s biggest XStat panel is a tour-de-force of loudspeaker engineering – one that works every bit as well as they claim, measurement and listening show. You simply cannot get better clarity than this, you can’t get a more even sound free from phasiness and you’ll never hear violin sounding as it is meant to, except from this big XStat panel. It’s line source nature paints up a massive sound stage, one on which images are pin sharp. Again, I’ve never heard better – and I cannot imagine being able to… Loudspeakers don't get much better than this

Only one other sold as far as I can see (hifi shark) over the past two years. And was significantly priced higher.
I dont expect this to be available for much longer....

Put an offer in before its gone .
