    Default Garrard 401 - special !

    Hi
Made this myself and now its up for sale ,will probably regret but still got the original

    Garrard 401 schedule no 71250 sn 201**

    Kokomo Mk 2 bearing fitted

Original bearing and an Exact Audio XTP401 included

Original Garrard mat and stainless steel record puck

    Two tonearms fitted: -

Audio Technica ATP-16t High-Mass Static-Balance Tonearm with removable headshell

    Audio Technica AT622 arm lead

    Orsonic AV-1s headshell

    Denon 103 nuded

    Isokinetik graphite body

Audio Technica AT1100 low mass tonearm

Gimballed arm for high compliance cartridges

    Jelco arm lead

Audio Technica AT-F5 cartridge - stilton modified

Stand made out of valchromat which is a" wood fibre panel which is coloured throughout and engineered for high physical performance. The fibres are individually impregnated with organic dyes and chemically bonded by specifically developed resins that give the panels their special properties."

The individual layers are jointed with a Festool Domino joiner and finished with Danish Oil.

4 solid "grade 6082T6" aluminium legs support the isolated turntable plinth which is highly adjustable by four knurled lockable round nuts.

The turntable plinth has both arm boards isolated from the main plinth – spare right side arm board included.

The one internal shelf is floating by the use of wire rope and assemblies from a UK based company allowing the shelf to be nicely isolated from the rest of the stand

Finally, the stand sits on four large spikes again adjustable and lockable

I stumbled across this listed on Ebay and wanted to say how amazing it looked. If the plinth alone was for sale I would jump at it, as how it looks floats my boat big time.

I agree. I think the table/plinth looks amazing. I'd buy one and use it as an excuse to actually have my TT back in my system!

Very nice looking turntable and stand with a glimpse on the right of another fine looking stand perhaps with another turntable on top.
