I don't disagree with any of that Marco, but I feel that if I want to criticise something I have a responsibility to articulate why I am doing the criticising it, either from a functionality or design point of view.
I am an ex graphic designer & now an artist so that probably explains where I am coming from, I don't think that just blurting out "I don't like that & that is my opinion" goes far enough, but if you can describe the reasons you don't like it then everyone learns something & it becomes positive not negative.

I couldn't give a monkey's what anyone thinks of my kit, or my opinion of what looks good, as long as *I* like it and it looks good to me! Plus, when you post pictures on a forum, of anything, you have to be prepared for others to comment, positively or negatively. Therefore, you can't afford to be 'precious'.

I think there is a lot to be said for how something is said as much as what is said.
When I posted a thread saying how much I love my new Clearaudio TT, I received positive comments (and a lot of help). You could easily have waded in saying it looks shit and potentially taken the shine off my joy (no one likes piss on their chips) and probably taken the thread in a negative direction. It was considerate that you didn't.
But in a thread about likes and dislikes of TT design, I'd be a bit thin skinned to take offence at your opinion of my beautiful TT
A bit of consideration goes a long way, everything in it's place, including "Kit of shit"
